Extracurriculars
Big ones are: Research where I currently study Andrographolide as well as its analogs to understand its pharmacokinetics, as well as understanding how the drug gets broken down by the body. Utilized advanced instrumentation such as LC-MS, HPLC, etc. Presented at 3 symposiums, 2 blitz talks, and going to attend SCCUR conference, which is an undergraduate-level conference. Publication is also in progress. (This research correlates to what I want to do in the future). Another one, is my volunteering at my local hospital ( Stanford), where I discharge patients, collect and transport lab specimens and handle front desk operations. I also volunteer at the American Cancer Society thrift shop (done it since 10th grade). Rest of my Ecs includes summer research, nonprofits, clubs etc.
Essays/LORs/Other
For my PIQS I answered:
Prompt 1 (leadership): talked about numerous leadership in the lab 9/10
Prompt 3 (skill): wrote about a skill special to me (organization) and used specific examples to portray that skill 8/10
Prompt 6 (favorite subject): talked about chemistry, started off with an ancedote, then went on to talking about AP Chemistry and then specifically talking about a specific experiment I did in lab and connected to why chemistry is my favorite, and then ended with what I wanted to do in the future, which is creating medication and neatly tied it back to the beginning 9.5/10
Prompt 7 (community): I talked about my volunteering at the Stanford Tri-Valley Hospital and how I created front desk signs to ensure efficient flow etc. 9/10
Please tell me realistically my chances at these UCs I know my stats are a bit low but hopefully they won’t affect me too much!
