PLS SMB from UC can you answer

Hi Gina,

You should take comfort that while psoriasis is indeed a worrisome illness, most people with psoriasis live very normal lives. While medicine is a wonderful career, your son certainly will get wonderful care from the medical team that he has in place and it is not necessary for you to go to medical school in order to take care of him.

The UC medical schools, even if they accept your degree, are extremely selective schools. It is very difficult for people to gain admission, and there would be many steps along the path – not just the classes, but the standardized testing, the essays, the interviews, the extracurriculars, etc. And getting in is just the beginning of a very long, difficult road which will take many, many years.

From what I have seen, most medical schools require at least a year of your coursework to have been done here in the US. I am not sure whether your post-baccalaureate work will qualify.
