Plumbing anyone?

Yesterday I installed a lavatory sink. It worked well all afternoon and performed its duties well at bedtime. This morning I awakened to running water! No leaks anywhere, just a hot water faucet pouring out hot water into the sink.

Can this be anything but a problem with the valve on the hot handle? Do I call the supplier or the manufacturer?

There’s not much to it. For a dual handled faucet it’s just a supply line into the faucet, the faucet’s valve, then the output line through the faucet into the sink. What’d you do to stop it - did you you just close the valve - i.e. did the valve somehow ‘open itself’ during the night?

Most of the companies have toll free help lines available. I suggest calling it. If you don’t get anywhere with that then bring the faucet back to where you purchased it and get a different brand. If you bought it at Home Depot they’ll take almost anything back.

Thanks ucsdladad. I called Overstock.com where I bought it and it turns out they have a parts department and they’re shipping me a new valve. I was impressed at how responsive they were. It was easy enough to turn off the supply line under the sink, but what a drag! Especially since I had already discovered the second set of faucet hardware was the wrong stuff (a smaller version), after removing the old (but working) stuff. So now I have one working cold line between two bathroom sinks. Again, Overstock handled that well too; they’re expediting a replacement. I did get the stuff for half the price Amazon wants for the same stuff, so I’m a tad more willing to put up with this nonsense.
