PMLE poll: accepting or declining?

I got PLME but am declining it in favor of an 8-year Baylor U. and Baylor College of Medicine program. For those of you who got PLME, what have you decided?

I think I made the right decision; money is a HUGE factor, but on top of that, BCM is not too shabby of a med school. Will I be missing out on the Brown/Ivy experience though? oh well.

I’m accepting PLME and turning down harvard, penn, wash u, northwestern, haverford and kenyon. i’m very happy with my decision, but money is not a factor for me and I imagine that if it were, it would be a different story. Good luck to you!! I’m sure you’ll have an awesome time and get a GREAT education.

I am a soph in high school and Brown’s PLME is my first choice for college. Do you guys mind sharing your stats and/or any advice?

As far as i can tell there is absolutely no formula that helps you get in. i didn’t have that much background in medical work and math/science is not my strength (i’m an english person - i edit the newspaper). i think my essays were pretty good - i’m really passionate about the program and it fits EXACTLY the kind of doctor/med student i want to be. i think essays play a big part in the decision. As far as i can tell the best thing u can do is come across as someone who genuinely loves the program and wants to be an especially “humane” and well-rounded doctor. I haven’t been able to pin down what type of person they admit. although everyone is smart and passionate, people seem pretty diverse in their backgrounds, professional plans, and personalities. good luck!
