Hoping there might be some NJ folks who have been there–

My daughters want me to get tickets to a concert this summer which is sold out.
However, there are still some general admission lawn seats available. Also, some secondary sellers are listing lawn seats which are actually numbered (?), for somewhat reasonable prices. Is anyone familiar with this type of seating? It would be nice to have a “spot,” but not quite sure how you reserve a patch of lawn…

Also - if it rains, are they apt to cancel the show our hold it anyway? From a photo online it looks like most of the venue is covered, except for the lawn, of course.

Lawn seats are first come first serve. You go early and stake your spot with lawn chairs and blankets. You can’t really see the stage, although I think there are TV screens that show the stage. If it rains, you get wet… A lot of people like the lawn seats as they are very casual. Personally, I prefer actual seats which are undercover in case of rain. (but I’m old…lol My son and his girlfriend always get lawn seats, they can cuddle while they listen to the concert).
One note to mention, they are really trying to crack down on underage drinking at PNC. There are arrests in the newspaper every year. Don’t know if you need to worry about that, but I thought I’d mention it.

Thanks, dk–
I warned D’s that we would probably be far far from stage, but obviously Green Day is worth it :). Younger one will probably bring her birding binoculars (or ‘opera glasses’ in this case). Will keep our fingers crossed for nice weather.

Am glad to hear they’re cracking down on drinking. I have very little patience for drunks - of any age!
