Point of Math 1

It seems to me as though the Math I subject Test is pointless since the only colleges that require a math subject test require math II

how do colleges look at Math I scores

is the score impossible

whats the point?

Your grasp of the English language is not strong : /

I don’t understand your question…

Are you expressing outrage that colleges even consider Math I?
Are you asking whether or not it is difficult to earn a high score on the exam?
Are you lamenting your inferior performance on the exam, relative to your performance on the Math II exam?

Whine less.

Your grasp of reading comprehension is not strong : /

And it’s a question that I don’t have a great answer to. Every college I’ve seen that uses math subject tests as placement uses Math 2 and not Math 1. My guess is it’s role is that of an achievement test that can highlight your mathematical ability. It’s really hard to get an 800 on, so very high grades are really impressive.

I got a 710, which is pretty good for Math 1, and it probably just dispels any thoughts of grade inflation in the mathematical area for grades 9 and 10. I don’t really know though.

haha just realized my second to last line makes no sense

i can only assume that its purpose is to provide a test for those of us who cant take pre calc until senior year and hence dont know much of the material on the math 2 test…or else thats just my personal reason for taking it. but the curve is so horrible i might as well have taken math 2
