@grit2018 I have a couple questions. Do you know how many kids are potentially in her graduating class? Also, how many performances opportunities has she had since she has been there?
This whole process is so nerve racking! Can’t wait til it’s over, but I am sure that comes with other nerve racking scenarios ?
I’m wondering if anyone has heard back from the January 11th auditions.
@Kimberking My daughter auditioned on 12/7 and heard back via email on 12/17. But, did not receive anything in the mail until the 2nd or 3 rd week of January ( due to the school being closed for winter break). I hope this helps.
Thank you. We received positive results today.
@ Inurdrems9 sorry I just saw ur post. I think there are about 70 students in my daughters class. It is a large program which is good fir networking and also finding a “tribe”. My daughter has found students and staff to be super supportive. There are about 4 yearly shows which all audition for. It is very competitive to get into a show but it does mimic the real world. So far my daughter has been casted three times. The training is outstanding! My daughter wanted an urban campus and Pittsburgh is really fantastic! Good luck to all!
Hello ! My daughter was accepted to PPU and also just received an acceptance to SUNY Purchase Conservatory of dance. I was wondering what your daughters thoughts on SUNY Purchase as compared to PPU. Any information would be extremely grateful.
My DD was accepted last week to Point Park and SUNY Purchase - awaiting PACE. The whole process is so new to us.
Is anyone aware if the minor options at these schools are still good from an academic stand point - DD does not want to fully give up academic work.
Of the 2 she received she placed point park ahead of SUNY . I think PACE is first choice if she gets in/ but Point Parks excellent facilities are impressive!
Would love to get your feedback about Point spark - daughter is considering it - Jazz concentration.
Does your DD have a minor as well?
My daughter is an education minor. SUNY purchase is excellent training and a great choice. My daughter wanted an urban campus and loved the facilities at PPU-they are quite impressive and appreciated. She also liked that she would need to take ballet and Jazz despite being a minor concentration. The vibe of the school is also important-go to accepted student days and use that info as well to make your choice.
Sorry I meant you take ballet and jazz despite being a modern concentration
Has anyone heard back from the Feb. 15 audition?
Yes my DD was at that audition and found out she was accepted a week ago.
How did they inform you? Email?
So do acceptances usually come faster than rejections from everyone ‘s experience ? This process is torturous
@nanatomz every time we’ve heard of others getting acceptances from her auditions more than a day before she’s heard anything, it’s always been a rejection- at least for my daughter.
Don’t have a problem with rejection but I wish they wouldn’t make you wait so long.
My DD was informed via email of her acceptance plus scholarship award.
DD just received word she was waitlisted for PP dance. Anyone have experience with how likely to get acceptance from their waitlist?
DD received acceptance email today with scholarship to PPU :). Anyone have information on the the value for its cost?
