polar graph

what is the smallest length theta-interval that will produce the graph of r=cos2(theta)?
the answer to this question is 2

how do you do this type of problems? possible by hand without a graphing calculator?

I think it’s because the graph is symmetrical to the x-axis, so after 0–> pi, it repeats from pi to 2pi. From there on, it just keeps repeating the same path over and over again. that’s why it’s 2pi interval. I’m not sure about this answer though. Hope it helps!
By the way, next time, post math question in the thread “please help me with these 2 questions” in High School Life box. We will collect the math questions into one thread from now on. Just to be organized u know ^_^

thanks van, but just to make sure, is there anyone else who knows the answer to my question?
