Political Internships and Admissions

How are political internships (e.g. senate or state dept.) viewed by the princeton admissions office? I am only wondering as to whether or not my time could be better spent working on laboratory research. As for my major, I am undecided but I have strong interests (and backgrounds) in both “areas”. Can anyone give me guidance?? Thanks.

Well, I’m somewhat in the same situation than you are. Although I’ve already decided that I want to major in science, politics plays a huge role in my life and I’m heavily involved in various organizations and projects. Being a prospective applicant myself, I’d advise you not to care what Princeton would think. Do whatever you want to do. Do it because you like it. I think that’s what Princeton would appreciate the most. ;-)

^ yup, sounds good. which would you rather do…lab research or internship? don’t try to mold your resume to what you think they want…they really do want to see who you are!

Yeah, I agree. It’s a lot more important to be yourself.
