Political phone calls - I'm sorry but I have sinned

<p>If I were Catholic I would have a better forum in which to confess. Fed up with the unending barrage of calls (our primary is over, for heaven’s sake) I just gave in to my deepest primal urge. Phone rings - since everyone in family is currently travelling I lunge for it.<br>
“Hello, I’m <em>, from the *</em> national party”
Poor kid, I just finally gave in to the urge and turned the phone over and slammed it hard against the counter. First call gets a “please take us of your list”. Second gets a hang up. Third through 800th usually gets hang ups too but I just snapped. </p>

<p>My payment? I now have to go to Best Buy in the morning to get a new phone. Curmudgeon, is there a liability in Texas for beating on phones?</p>

<p>You get real people?! In the weeks leading up to our state’s joke-of-a-primary, we got many, many political calls. Every one of the calls was automated. There is no satisfaction in slamming the phone down on a tape recorder.</p>

<p>When our voicemail got the political messages, there was no way to hit the delete button until the message was over. I was forced to listen to them while waiting until the end to hit delete. </p>

<p>Politicians, do you have any evidence that anyone has ever changed their vote based on a recorded phone message?</p>

<p>IN the run-up to our state’s primary we got four or five LIVE political phone calls, and all of them were from the Obama campaign. I’ll say one thing, the man sure has motivated supporters.</p>

<p>Before the Florida primary I got at least one automated call a day from Mitt Romney - must have been at least 10 in all. SO annoying! The other Republican candidates had their share of automated calls, too, but Romney was the absolute worst. </p>

<p>I can’t imagine that anyone welcomes these calls, or even listens to what they have to say. It’s nothing more than political telemarketing.</p>

<p>Before the MI primary, I swear I got at least 3 robo-calls a day from Mitt’s team (Mitt, his wife, and a supporter). I considered it overkill.</p>
