I am a current junior and interested in attending a school to major in political science. As of right now, I am interested in UGA, SMU, University of Michigan, Truman State University, University of Alabama, and the University of Texas Austin. I am also applying to the Naval Academy but I doubt that I will get accepted, its just been a dream for a while. What are my chances for some of these schools/do you have any suggestions. I know my test scores are low but I am taking the ACT and retaking the SAT so my score should go up since I did not study the first time.
SAT: 1270 Reading=680 Math=590 will probably go up to 1300+
GPA: 3.89 UW (my school does not offer AP or honors classes and does not weight GPA’s)
Dual Credit Classes: Calculus, Statistics, and Advanced Biology
E.C.'s (sports): will be 4-year varsity starter in softball (varsity captain sophomore-junior year… probably senior year as well), golf: 2 years varsity only, volleyball: 2 years, Basketball: 2 years, cheerleading: will be 4-year varsity (captain this year)
E.C.'s (other): yearbook 2 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (volunteer organization) 4 years, Student Council 4 years, Art Club- 1 year, National Honor Society 2 years, page for senator in Illinois house
I know that I listed a lot of schools, but I am really trying to narrow it down going into my senior year.
Any suggestions would help!
