Not necessarily. Just because a public school is competitive doesn’t mean that they have the resources to hire and retain counselors who are knowledgeable about college admissions.
My kids attended a CA public HS that was ranked in the top 3% in the state, yet one of my kids had three counselors in four years. Two were fresh out of school. That’s how I ended up on CC.
