Political Theory at Cornell

I am in the process of narrowing down my school choices for a Ph.D. in Political Theory. I like small programs that are not too focused on quantitative methods, and have interdisciplinary options. I also would like to get tons of experience teaching. My first choice is Cornell, since it fits all these criteria and I have a recommendation from an undergrad thesis advisor who is a graduate of their program.

I am married, and have a young son, so I have to consider the family-friendliness of each academic program.

I’m looking to connect with anyone who is currently enrolled or has graduated from Cornell with a Poli Sci Ph.D. I’d also love to talk to students at UMichigan-Ann Arbor, Northwestern, Minnesota, and Princeton.

i’m an undergrad at cornell so i cant testify as a parent, but cornell seems very kid friendly.

there’s tons of things for your kid to do. nature walks, and lots of other children activities hosted by different orgs/depts around campus.

how old is your son?

My son is 17 months. By the time I start school, though, he’ll be 2 1/2.

Thanks for the info.
