Hi! I’ve been accepted and am pretty sure that Pitt is my top choice, but I’m worried about air pollution (I tend to be pretty sensitive to it). Is pollution bad in Oakland?

Not at all, Pittsburgh is nothing like the “dirty steel town” of it’s past history. Oakland and the surrounding areas are great, there’s load of park and nature nearby. The only thing you may need to adjust to is the sidewalk smokers. That’s about as bad as air pollution gets. Honestly I just hold my breath as I speedwalk past them.

Pittsburgh is constantly on lists stating it is one of the top U,S. cities to live. google to get some info. Pollution from the old steel days is no longer a concern.
