Polytechnic Institute of NYU?

I am applying to NYU regular decision, but was wondering whether I should apply to the Poyltechnic Institute of NYU seperately? I am going to study Comp. Engineering and heard that they move you to the NYU Poly if you are studying engineering at NYU.

This is NYU Poly’s website: [Polytechnic Institute of New York University | NYU-Poly](<a href=“Home | NYU Tandon School of Engineering”>http://www.poly.edu/)

So… should I apply to NYU Poly separately or just apply to NYU? Or vice-versa? Maybe I shouldn’t apply to NYU at all and only to NYU Poly if I’m going to study Comp. Eng. ?

From what I read,
If you apply in comp eng at NYU, you can dual major at NYU-Poly and major in comp sci and vice-versa.

[College of Arts and Science](http://www.nyu.edu/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/academic-programs/college-of-arts-and-science.html)

Apply to both! You still have time to apply to NYU-Poly since it has a Feb deadline. I’m also applying to both, :]
I was going to apply to NYU in comp sci, but I decided to go with Gallatin. Kind of a big jump.
The difference between the two is NYU is a 1st tier university while NYU-Poly is a 3rd tier university.
I think that’s what it said, ehhh, I just skimmed a bunch of stuff online. :P

Thanks! I guess I will apply to both.

Best of luck with your applications.

NYU and NYU Poly are separate schools. Therefore, if you want to study Comp. Engineering, you HAVE to apply to NYU Poly, because NYU does not offer any engineering majors, unless you want to Dual Major.

Plus keep in mind, if you look at the statistics, NYU Poly is MUCH easier to get in than NYU itself.
