My son got into Pomfret and Canterbury is really struggling to choose. We attended revisit days at both seem like great options. Canterbury appears to have an edge in terms of community, but Pomfret is higher in the rankings. Would appreciate any thoughts…
As @skieurope always says, colleges admit kids, not schools. Pick the school where your son will be happiest.
I don’t have any experience with Canterbury, but my son’s school played Pomfret in two of his sports (3 years/ I think we missed Covid) and the parents (as a group) were by far the nicest we’d met anywhere. While we did’t meet with any kids, all of the kids and coaches seemed really respectful on the field. Truth be told, in one of the sports they were way better than us but played the game with a lot of respect for the other team. It was on our list, but S23 was burnt out by the time we were going to look. Feel like it might have been one that got away. I’m a fan.
Based on whose rankings? Does it matter -go where your child will thrive the most. The one that feels like home.
Curious which one you chose. My son is applying to both as well!
