Pomona, Bowdoin, Yale Chances

<p>My top college choices are currently Pomona, Bowdoin and Yale. (Pomona particulary!)Here is my info:
White female from Nevada, family income is about $98,000/year.</p>

<p>SAT: 2330 (reading 800, writing 800, math 730)
(Waiting on ACT and SAT Subject)</p>

<p>GPA: 4.0 UW, 5.05 W</p>

<p>Class rank: ? I think about 10th out of 300 or so.</p>

<p>AP: World History 5 (10th grade), English Lang. and Comp. 5 (11th), US History 5 (11th)</p>

<p>IB: Math SL 7 (11th), Bio SL 6 (11th) I am currently on track to receive my IB diploma this year.</p>

<p>Senior classes: Theory of Knowledge, Honors physics, AP Calculus, IB French HL, IB HL History of the Americas II, IB English HL, wind ensemble/marching band, IB music theory SL. I’ll be testing in Calc, French (AP and IB), IB HOA, English (AP and IB) and IB music. </p>

<p>Awards: National Merit Semifinalist (Finalist pending), AP Scholar Award, President’s Award for Academic Excellence, Best Sophomore in WHS Band, 1st in state and 5th in nation for the National French Contest (2012), scored all 1’s (best score) in regional Solo and Ensemble music competitions all 6 years.</p>

<p>Activities: NHS, Academic Olympics (11th, 12th), school book club, 8 years of flute lessons, 6 years in the Reno Youth Symphony/Concert Orchestra, 6 years in the Washoe County honor band (5 years 1st chair) 2/3 (?) years in NV All-State Band (9th, 10th, 12th pending), free private flute teacher (12th), frequent participation in summer music camps, local flute events/festivals and masterclasses with professional flutists.</p>

<p>Volunteering: 2 hrs/week at local public library (9th, 10th, 11th, 12th)</p>

<p>Letters of Rec: really strong</p>

<p>Essays: Still in progress, but I am working hard on them so I think they will be strong. </p>

You have awesome stats, and you’re definitely a competitive applicant for all of those schools.</p>

<p>Please note that all three of these are reach schools for almost all applicants, including very well qualified applicants like you. You will likely get into multiple selective schools, as long as you apply to enough of them. If you apply to only these three (plus a safety), you could end up at the safety. I’d bet that you’d get into at least one of them, but I wouldn’t bet a huge amount of money.</p>
