Seems like it was deleted! It was posted in the evening yesterday so it wouldn’t have expired yet.
i think the story was actually posted on tuesday night so i think it did just expire!
yah it was posted tuesday night haha
good luck everyone! hope at least some of you get in :))
wow this wait is quite excruciating ?
Sick! Football
I talked to the admissions office this morning. Two people there said the ED1 applications are still in committee so decisions will not be announced tomorrow. They will come out “nearer” to Dec 15th.
So it’s coming out some time between tmrw and next Friday?
if that’s true i wonder why they posted on their story to get everyone excited? it seems odd that they would make such a public announcement then not follow through
guys what the heck. this is so #confusing
My counselor called me down today to let me know that my Q1 grades were requested yesterday, which from what I’ve heard is usually a sign that the notifications will come by that Friday. Has anyone else asked admissions since this morning?
Do you mean this Friday or next Friday?
pomonaadmissions responded to my DM at 1130 AM PST saying they will be released tomorrow afternoon, but they haven’t decided on a time.
Hi guys! I’m an ED1 applicant and my counselor had a meeting yesterday with my rep to talk about the applicant pool. I wanted to let you guys know that they had 700 applicants and only 140 spots for ED 1 and 2 and about 100 of the applicants were guaranteed admission through sports recruitment, QuestBridge, or Possey
140 spots including the 100 applicants guaranteed admission?
That is frightening…
(By the way, at about 5 pm today, @pomonaadmissions answered my DM on Instagram saying that decisions will be released tomorrow (“late evening”) if everything “goes well.”)
So what you’re saying is only 40 people are guaranteed admission for both ED 1 and 2 combined (if you’re a regular college applicant with no hooks)? lol that doesn’t make much sense how little ppl they accept from the ED pile
This doesn’t sound true. There were 1200-1300+ ED applicants each year the last two years, if you look at common data set. Stop stressing people out, whatever will happen will happen.
I mean it makes sense in the context that they only have about 400 students in each class and they can only admit about 1/3 or so ED
Dude, I don’t know who your advisor is but that is legitimately wrong. Please don’t post misinformation. You really think they only accept 40 people out of 700? Their acceptance rate is low…but not that low… Their regular decision acceptance is around 9-10%. And you think that somehow ED, the route that is supposed to give an advantage on applying and provide greater acceptance changes, is only 5% acceptance? I’m already paranoid and losing my mind as it is waiting for this, I don’t need to be supplemented with nonsensical hysteria.
Also, I reached out to the Pomona Admissions instagram (lol they’re really going to lose their minds over all of us spamming), and they told me as well, as of today, that decisions will come out tomorrow sometime in the afternoon. Man, I just want to know if my college application melancholy will cease yet. I’ve been kind of stupid and feel in love with Pomona a bit too much and put all my focus on it instead of splitting my interest between schools (Even drove out two hours for an interview, but it was actually really fun). Welp, suppose all I can do is pray.
This is a long post, but does anyone have any in-depth info about how Pomona accepts? I’ve heard both A.) They want perfect SAT, GPA, and ECs and B.) They care roughly about scores, but as long as you’re in the range you’re find; primarily they focus on you as a person and your passions/motivations. ––Hoping the answer is B.) as I scored somewhat well on my SAT (1440) but didn’t have a chance to take it a second time
and I hope things aren’t as black and white as everybody alludes to the admissions process being.
I’m just saying that based on the last two years of data, they had like 1200+ apps for ED, and accepted a little over 200 each year. So saying that there were 700 applications and they’re targeting 140, with 100 taken already makes no sense.
We won’t know until they release that data next year, but by then we’ll all be in college already (hopefully)!
Good luck to all!
