Really, good luck to everyone who applied. With a school as selective as Pomona, getting rejected or deferred really is no insult to all of the work you’ve put in. You’re all incredibly smart and talented people who will be successful wherever you end up, and hopefully, that place gets to be Pomona! We likely have less than 12 hours before we get the notifications, let’s go make this day incredible.
(I’m not usually one for that level of cheesiness, sorry haha)
Good luck again to the whole ED1 crew!
P.S. If people are willing to share their decision and some of their stats this evening that would be great for ED2 and RD people
I think going into today it’s important to have faith in yourself and the work that you have done to get to where you are today. A rejection or deferral is not a measure of your own personal success, and I am a big believer that everything happens for a reason. I think that each and every one of us is talented and capable and honestly doing our best. I wish you all the best of luck.
According to the CDS, last year they had 1,384 applicants combined for ED1 and ED2 and accepted only 213 and that included 38 Questbridge and Posse applicants. That left only 175 spots between ED1 and 2. Not getting my hopes up but you never know. Good luck to all!
@nullbeing they just said “by the end of the day today” but i’m not sure if they meant the end of their work day or like end of the actual day…hopefully the former
@nullbeing oof, rejected here too it’s okay though, i’m sure we’ll get into some other colleges that fit us just as well - and hey, worst case u could try reapplying as a transfer in 2 years :))
Yea I know, just sucks because I put so much work into applying and drove out 2 hours to interview and it went super well. and then I also went to my info session at my school and talked with my officer, even corresponded to send resources that supplemented by activities to prove they’re legit.
Deferred :(. Still a bit confused on that, I know Pomona is very selective with their deferrals but I’m still not sure where this puts me in terms of my acceptance chances. Anyone have any ideas?
