He passed away hours ago (Ron Palillo, age 63) and no one started a thread. Poor guy.

I feel like I am losing my childhood… :(

Awww…:(

Horshaaack!

I hadn’t heard.

For people who don’t remember - he was on the TV show “Welcome Back Kotter”.

Wow - I remember so many of these people as being young - it’s hard to imagine that he was 63 (but it’s hard for me to imagine how old I am either).

I also saw this when checking on Ron Palillo -

Someone posted on a non-CC board that Debralee Scott, who played Hotsie Totsie, also died fairly recently.

It hasn’t been a stellar year for John Travolta either… I’d be real nervous if I were Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs…

Too many people. Too young. I wonder what kind of lifestyle these people were living?

I was looking at the ages of the cast members of Kotter. Interestingly, Marcia Strassman and Gabe Kaplan (the “kotters”) were born in 1948 and 1945. Strassman was almost exactly one year older than Ron Palillo (both April birthdays). Thats surprising.

I loved John Sebastian music. Both solo (he played at my HS) and as part of the Lovin Spoonful. Those were the days…

** Sebastian was born in 1944. Older than Gabe Kaplan… Weird perspective…

jandj, that made me LOL. :D

MADad,
Apparently Debra Lee Scott died back in 2005!! Her wiki bio is sad. [Debralee Scott - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Debralee Scott - Wikipedia)

And I agree-- jandj’s post was a hoot!

This is making me think that we need a thread devoted to former stars and where are they now. I wonder about Buffy, Jody and Cissy from Family Affair. I remember some urban legend about how Buffy (or was it Cissy?) supposedly was hit by a bus and dragged blocks. I guess it would be easy enough to figure it out now with the Interney.

It’s sad that even though she went into a coma before she died, they didn’t find cause of death at Debralee Scott’s autopsy.
Of course when my father died in his early 40s, they couldn’t determine cause of death then either.

We are spoiled by all the police procedurals when they not only determine cause of death but the killer and motive in fifty minutes!

Anissa Jones who played Buffy died in 1976.

Anissa Jones (Buffy) died of a drug overdose.

Hence the song Buffy Buffy Come Back to Me.

I thinnk of Lawrence Hilton -Jacobs, or “boom boom” as from " Cooley High", and I think that cast going strong.

If you have not, listen to Boyztomen.

I loved Welcome Back Kotter. We had an “all class” reunion for my high school in 1976. Gabe Kaplan was the entertainment - he did a stand up comedy routine. We also had Mrs. Munster (Yvonne DeCarlo) - I think she sang.

This past month, I have seen JJ from Good Times on some cable news shows. I don’t remember the subject matter, but it was fun to see him and he has recently been linked to Ann Coulter.
