thanks i guess, i dont know if thats good or bad

In general, the California public colleges weight ECs less than privates.

I admittedly don’t know what GPAs you need for the UCs this year. If your 3.61 weighted is UC weighted, not private school weighted, you might have a pretty good chance at the UCs you are interested in. Do you have a decent SAT score?

My SATs are not the hottest :frowning:
My courses are all honors/ap all 4 years

Do the admissions office at the UCs consider the major we are applying for, intensively?

You might want to wander over to the UC website, plug in your classes and grades and see what they think your GPA is. The UCs only count soph and junior year, and not all honors or AP classes weight up. So your UC GPA may be higher or lower than you think.

What is the difference between UC weight and private school weight?

In addition to what UCDAlum82 said about how UCs only count 10th and 11th grade of hs, they only count the UC approved courses that goes towards your A-G requirements ( you can check if your hs classes are UC approved by using this: [University of California Doorways Home](http://www.ucop.edu/doorways/) ) opposed to private which has their own individual system of calculating the applicant’s gpa.

I also noticed that you didn’t include any CSUs on the list of schools you’re interested in. You should try a CSU that services your area because i know that they give first priority to those people and that the eligibility index standards are a little bit lower (according to the CSULA and CSUF admissions office when I called them regarding me, apparently i wasn’t in CSUF’s area and my numbers were borderline). Just be aware that CSUs don’t look at ECs.
