I did pretty bad on my SAT Subjects, 600 on Math 2(terrible) and 660 on Literature. My SAT score, however, is 2200, math being 710. Should I include the SAT Subject tests if they are optional, or will they hurt me more than help anything?

You don’t have an option. When you submit your SATs, all possible SAT scores (including SAT subject test scores) are included in your score report.

fa-la-la-lena is correct. if you want to use your SAT scores, they are going to see your SAT subject scores. there is no way to separate them. and it depends on the schools you are applying to. if you are going for ivies and other elite schools, then it will, sorry to say, but definitely hurt you.

some school accept the act instead of sat and sat 2’s so you wouldnt have to send the sat scores at all. Also, you could retake the sat 2’s.

im in the same boat (800 CR SAT I, 700 Lit), and I was concerned too. however, my gc said that schools that dont require them dont really look at them, and Ive decided to take his word for it, just because worrying about it now that everything is already sent in isnt going to help me.

The UCs require the subject tests(2).

Harvard(3) and Princeton(3) also require them.

here is what carleton college in minnesota says about subject tests:
