Popular place on campus

Hi, I was wondering what is considered to be a popular place on campus. I will be meeting with a few students in a few months, and have never previously been to Cal Tech’s campus, but would be interested to know what is considered to be a central, popular, easy to access location for the students. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

The tables outside the Red Door Cafe would be a good bet. They are between Chandler and the Winnett Student Center. Google Caltech map to see where that is :)

The way Caltech works, generally, is that there are quite a few “social centers.” Each of the Houses is a popular place for their members, but there aren’t many popular places for the entire campus.

The only exception that I can think of is the Student Coffeehouse, which is currently located in the Chandler Dining Hall, but will be moving shortly. Even then, you’ll rarely see much inter-House mingling. More like groups from each of the Houses spend time there.

Caltech is such a small (physically) school that any student knows practically the entire school like the back of their hand. Really, if they’re current Techers, any location on campus will suffice (with bonus points for the location being close to their rooms).

P.S.- Hey craig!

Thanks for the info everybody. As I understand it, the physical dimensions of the campus make it easy for anyobody to go anywhere from anywhere, which is great. Thanks again!

Yeah- even if you have to walk around campus a few times to find someone, it’s not that far. At prefrosh weekend, I probably walked the permieter of the campus (not including atheletic facilities) in 15-20minutes.
