Hi,

My DD has an upcoming interview for the Posse Scholarship and her top interest would be Pomona. My concern is if there is any type of stigma by students of members within Posse. Are students associated with an unfair advantage of acceptance vs applying the regular way.

I like the idea of a full tuition scholarship, however not sure if there are any negatives that we need to factor in.

Of course this is premature since no clue if she will pass even first round…

I don’t think there is any stigma. The Posse kids are close with each other but also blend into the general population at Pomona. My daughter (Pomona Junior, not Posse) has several friends that are Posse scholars and she was even invited to and attended the annual PossePlus retreat.

I have never heard of Posse kids being accused of unfair admissions advantage. From what I can tell, there is incredible support for Posse, from students, professors and administrators.

Thank you for that insight.
