<p>I’m currently at the University of Texas (SOPH, rising Junior) and I’m very interested in pursuing a career in WS IBD. The only problem is that I’m at UTexas, which isn’t as heavily recruited for IB by NY BB firms. Moreover, I’m not in BHP- just general finance. To add on top of that, I don’t really have any connections into Wall Street. On the bright side, I do have a spot-free 4.0 GPA</p>
<p>Given that I’m from UTexas, and not from HYP, Wharton, or even BHP, do I even have a shot at a BB firm for IBanking? How do I fare at the more prestigous firms, such as GS/MS/ML?</p>
