Possibility of entering good University

Hello
I am Asian, have civizenship of south american
My parents lives in South American.
They are both Missionaries

I studed in USA as a boarder.
My GPA is not as high as the students who will apply for IVY School(like HYPS)
raher 3.4 average.

I dont know about Affirmative ACTION very well
Do you think this AA are workable for me?

Asians are minorities in some schools in the mid-west, but generally are not minorities for AA purposes at most schools. If you consider yourself Hispanic culturally, then answer is yes, and that will help. This is a personal designation, so you are entitled to decide what cultural groups you identify with. The common application, used to apply to most colleges, will ask about your race and if you are Hispanic. If you indicate that you are both Asian and Hispanic, it will ask what countries you are from - just fill in the info.

You should focus on finding a college that’s a good match based on your academics rather than trying to second guess any boost your race/ethnicity might give you.
