Possibility of getting rescinded :(

For some context, I was extremely fortunate this cycle to have gotten accepted by one of the GLADCHEMMS as a rising 11th grader. However, as the school year is wrapping up, I’m struggling to keep an A in two of my classes, and I’m very worried that I will end up getting a B in at least one of them. Assuming the worst case scenario (I end up dropping a B in both courses :frowning: ) do you think that could cause me to get rescinded? I don’t know if it matters, but both should be high B’s and missing the 90 cutoff by a few decimals. Sorry if I seem to be overly paranoid, I’m just worried that I might end up loosing this opportunity :frowning:

Thank you!

No. They accepted you. They want you. You’d have to really mess up for that to change. A B or 2 isn’t messing up

Don’t worry about that. The school
Has made you an offer because they think that you’ll add value to their community and think that you’ll thrive there. They didn’t make you an offer because of your A grades.

I’d suggest that you try your best in all your current classes. Don’t cheat. Don’t fail classes. Don’t get kicked out of school. Don’t do anything nefarious on social media. Don’t get arrested. And then focus on enjoying the last few weeks of 10th grade with your current friends and look forward to acing 11th and 12th at your new school.

If your issues with your current struggling classes are something beyond just a teacher grading harshly, particularly if this is in a math or language class where next year builds on this year, then maybe consider brushing up over the summer.

Zero chance of rescission for two Bs.

Try to enjoy your last few weeks of school with your current friends, classmates and teachers.

Don’t let thoughts like this ruin the rest of your time there. Stay positive. Be present. Enjoy yourself and don’t stress about your grades.

I totally understand the fear of recision, especially from high-performers.
But in my life I’ve heard one confirmed case, and it literally involved someone getting kicked out of school.

Take the energy you’re putting into this needless worry about getting rescinded and direct it into figuring put how you can learn better/smarter. How did you get oof track? When did you realize it? What did you try to address it and what worked and what didn’t? What might you do differently?

Yes, you need to master the material, but you’re also building your learning skills, which you’ll need at BS, at college, and for the rest of your life.
