Possible Cornell Transfer?

Hello there! I was just wondering how difficult Cornell would be to transfer to (I’d most likely be looking at it for my sophomore year, but it can also be my junior year). I’d be looking to study English and minoring in Classical Literature. Thanks ahead of time for any input!

It will be difficult as Cornell only accepts 20%~ of transfers (based on data from 2012) but based on my research, it seems that many of those transfers are guaranteed transfers, not quite sure about how it works. Look up “Cornell Guaranteed Transfers” for more info and see if it applies to you.

The 20% number is pretty skewed because it varies widely across colleges. Cornell accepts a lot of transfers into CALS (around 45%) due to guaranteed transfers and agreements with community colleges. But as for arts and sciences, where the English department is, Cornell only accepts about 7% of transfer students.

This is from 2011, so the acceptance rates have probably gone down since then: https://dpb.cornell.edu/documents/1000156.pdf

I know so many students at Binghamton who’d give their eye teeth to transfer to Cornell! But the chances depend on your achievement in your current school along with your previous credentials.
