Possible expulsion from PT school.

So long story short we had an assignment that my entire class didn’t know how to format due to a lack of explanation and direction from the professor. After a few days of our class still being confused I asked an upperclassman who’s gone through the class what was expected. Eventually he sent me his portfolio to use as a reference point. Anyways after finally completing this assignment I accidentally turned in his instead of mine. I have a meeting with a committee on Wednesday to discuss my status as a student at the program. This is my first semester in PT school and first time ever getting charged with any disciplinary action in grad or undergrad. What are my chances of getting expelled and if that happens what is next?

Seems like you have a lot of explaining to do. If explaining, I would be certain to show up with my completed work and ideally a date/time stamped photo of it taken as soon as I realized the mistake. You excuse may still be flimsy if it appears you were plagiarizing off past work. Blaming the professor would be a poor strategy.
