Possible Graduate Degrees

What are the possible graduate degrees the someone with a degree in applied chemistry could pursue ?

You could pursue whatever grad degree you’d like, I’m sure. What are you interested in? Medicine? Law? Chemical engineering? Why do you want to attend grad school?

I don’t have a chem degree, but maybe I could help you find the info you’re looking for…be a sounding board for your ideas : )

I want to attend grad school to make myself more marketable and versatile , im interested in forensic science and chemical engineering …I also have interests in operations management. Im just wondering if there are any other degrees i have not considered.

You will probably never want a job even if you can get one in forensics just because of the current popularity, the job market is flooded with applicants (jokingly called the CSI effect.)

Two things you might not have thought about… Go to law school and look at Patent Law. The ammount of students who go to law school with the credentials to sit for the Patent Bar are extremely low (most avoid science like the plague because of the traditionally low GPA’s that it produces) Starting pay is $160,000 anywhere in the nation, and they are the one area of law that is currently hiring (and needing many more)

A really off the wall idea is to get your Masters in Public Administration and start working your way through Environmental or Health and Human Service type non profits. The sky is the limit as to salary if you have some connections to any of these groups, and your undergrad will stand out as it is not just the normal business, social science, or other typical degree. You will in no way ever make as much as a patent attorney, however it is rewarding to help others or even a cause if that is your thing.

good advice, BowTieFratty! what are you interested in studying?

well i live in Jamaica and forensics has always been an interest of mine especially since my country needs it. I was torn between forensics ad chem eng so im doin applied chem 2 get a little of both.
