I will have been a member of my school’s Robotics Team for 3 years, from sophomore year. However, on my team’s website, under our individual bios, it only has one year for me so far because I was not in the class my sophomore year, but was in the club. Even though I was part of the team, I was not completely “official”, even though I put in the same amount of work, etc. Also, the person who runs the site currently is different than from last year, so I can’t really bring this up to him.

So can I put 3 years for the activity? What if they try to verify for some reason? Is this somthing they would even likely check, since I was not really a leader?

Thanks

They won’t check, it takes too much time on their part.

Yeah. I heard something on CC that made sense to me.

“If it’s enough to get you in (the EC), they’ll check. If not, they won’t.”

Just like romanigypsyeyes said… they won’t - too much time.

You should talk to him and explain what you’ve done, then ask if he considers you to have been part of the club for 3 years. Depending on where you apply, this is very important. For example at UC schools in CA they randomly pick 10% of the applicants and require them to verify an EC they have listed. If this happened to you and you can’t verify it, your app is cancelled at every UC.

If you go to a school that has good connections to some of the top colleges, the adcoms maintain informal contacts with the counselors at your HS. And so it is possible for this to come up in a conversation about students who have applied.

^Yes, under him I was officially listed in the club.

Also, I am aware of the UC system, but I also am aware that you can select to verify “an alternative activity,” which may help.

Ok, so I can probably get documentation under the UC system of auditing, but what about private places? I mean I know the chances are low, but what about in the worst case scenario?
