I am most likely going to be in a math related field since I am very interested in math, however I am worried about how my application looks. Since my school changed its curriculum (Common Core…), AB/BC calc is now for seniors (Basically moving all the math courses up one year). I also don’t plan on doing the AMC/AIME, so I feel like I have nothing to show to colleges. I plan on going to a top 20 college (Berk-UPenn range) Should I invest more time into AMC/AIME?

First off, usually what you do in high school won’t necessarily affect your major. And what I mean by that is, yes, high school may expose you to a field you want to eventually have a career in, and it is good to take classes tailored to that specific field, but in reality you can major in anything you want once you go to college.
So for Math, I recommend you taking AP Calc and AP sciences (also the common core is horrible and you shouldn’t worry about it, it’s not your fault). AMC/AIME are great to have if you took them, but in all honestly I don’t think most colleges put as much weight into these tests as most people think.
Since you’re a freshman, you have your whole high school career ahead of you. Focus on doing well, and getting involved in extracurriculars, things that you enjoy.
Good luck!
