Has anyone here had personal experience with successfully deferring an admission to either Andover or Exeter until sophomore year? Do they allow this? I know some schools do…haven’t found anything on either website indicating if these two schools might allow deferred admission.
If that is important to you call the admissions office and ask. The best information is usually straight from the school.
My understanding is that you are accepted to a certain class; if you choose not to attend, you are welcome to reapply the following year,but cannot defer. But you can certainly ask, although it’s probably presumptuous to do so before actually being accepted.
Of course double check but my understanding is that, unlike many colleges, BS don’t allow this.
Never heard of this happening, but they might consider for a good reason (parents moving, illness, etc). But I would suggest to wait until you get an offer in hand before asking.
