Possible to get cut from Econ major?

I read online that Bucknell caps/limits its Economics majors at around 100. They make the sophomores apply in the spring of their sophomore year. Considering Bucknell has nearly 1000 students now, most are pretty smart, and Economics is their most popular major (read somewhere it was around 11% of the students), I am scared that I will get cut from the major. Economics is my main choice of major, and If I don’t “make the cut” would I just be forced into a new major or have to switch schools? If anyone knows anything, or has heard of anyone getting cut, please share your experiences. Thanks.

I believe you have to apply to major in Econ. So yes if you don’t make the cut you have to choose another major. You can still take many of the same classes however.
