I am a horrible horrible person and I procrastinated. My application is due Nov15, and it is electronic, however, I cannot request a transcript until the 14… this means that the transcript will not reach the college until after the deadline and my application will be incomplete… therefore, I would like to know if colleges follow the postmark for when all items are due…
Why do you have to wait four more days to request a transcript?
I get it, your school has its own rules and calendar regarding what constitutes ED and EA, and works within those parameters. (Close?)
Don’t worry about the transcript, as most schools require only that the student portion of the application be met in its entirety by the deadline. They know that you do not control the people who send out transcripts, and that even recommenders may be constrained by a school’s protocols when using Common App. Those things will get downloaded by the college, and are accepted almost all the time, days and days and days after the stated deadline.
You must meet that deadline, and are responsible for giving notification to your school in a timely fashion. (Maybe deliver your urgent request with a plate of cookies?)
@edwards020 - check the college requirements to see if it mentions that ALL materials must be in or like @Waiting2exhale said - only your portion needs to be in.
@siliconvalleymom because of Veterans Day weekend
@MedSciBud @Waiting2exhale my college does not say… I may have to apply for the next deadline but I am scared it will decrease my chances for admission.
Have you already submitted your portion of the application?
@siliconvalleymom I have not submitted my potion because I want to make sure they won’t bump out my application because it is incomplete…
What do you mean by “bump out”? Have you called the admissions office to ask them how they will handle the issue?
Waiting to do your part can only hurt you if you find out that the student components would have sufficed. You will be bumped without penalty if you are bumped. What do you have to lose?
