Well, everybody is different and the people on this forum are basically some of the brightest students in the nation. CCers are overachievers. THe important thing is to just take the number of exams you feel prepared for and take the subjects that you are interested in. Many people also go to private and elite public schools where they are able to fill lots of APs in one year.

I’m actually kinda of surprised at the number of juniors who took multiple science exams especially the Physics exams. Do your schools offer AP Physics to juniors?

Welcome to CC.

As for me, Sophomore - Art History - 4 (I’m really angry, there’s no way I got a 4)

Yea but honestly taking more than 5 AP exams is just ridicilous, I mean if you can handle it then fine, but yeah.

Came in the mail today.

11th:
Calc BC - 5
US History - 5
Biology - 5
English Lang - 5

10th:
Calc AB - 5

9th:
Physics B - 5

The only one that I really wasn’t sure about is English Language. I’m happy that I did well, but I must admit that it is a pretty hard AP exam. Just look at the grade distribution.

How hard are Calc BC and the Physic C’s? I feel like self-studying them, but I don’t want to make sure I get good enough scores to get college credit…

Calc BC has a very generous curve. I don’t know about physics, but most of the kids who took C Mechanics (that’s all they take and our school teaches…) got 4s and 5s.

My son took AP Physics C/ E&M. He enjoyed the class & he & his class did well on the exam (most of his class usually get 5s for both exams). He says he thinks it would be tough to self-study.

He did self-study for US Gov & Env Sci & says both were “jokes” & easy 5s. Also self-studied for English Comp & got a 5 as a jr.

Well, Env Sci doesn’t exactly have a generous grade distribution, and at my school - where the class was being offered for the first time - almost everyone failed.

Hm - I’ve got a question.

If you get a 5 on the AP BC Calc exam and a 5 Calc AB subscore (while taking the BC exam), does that count as one exam or two separate exams? If you want to get credit for Calc AB test too, do you need to take that test specifically?

It counts as one exam, as far as the AP scholar awards go. It’s possible to 5 the AB subscore but get a one for the composite - if that happens, each school will review it differently. Some (like MIT), give no credit, others (like Pitt) consider a five on the AB subscore equivilent to a 5 on the AB exam.

AP Biology: 5

I didn’t even take the course. I read Campbells last summer.

All fives (not expected at all): Calc AB, Micro, Macro, Chemistry

Found out my scores today…some are good, others not so good.

AP English Language-5 (:D)

AP Spanish Language-3 (not surprising)

AP Calculus BC-3… (what???)
AB subscore-4 (I knew AB>BC)

AP US History-5 (
:D, I thought I got a 3!!!)

AP Physics B-4 (:))

AP Biology-4 (:))

Not bad for a junior taking 6 AP’s…

My scores didn’t arrive in the mail when everybody else in my town got them several days ago… so I called those soul-sucking monsters.

Bio - 3
English Language - 5
U.S. History - 5

I’m happy!

i got a 5 on AP Euro and AP Physics B!!! Im soooo happy

English Language - 3 <–Well…I was expecting at least a 4, but what can you do? Those guys AP graders sure know my weakness.

US History - 5 <–Thank God.

Psychology - 5 <–Was expecting as much.

Physics B - 5 <–THANK YOU!!! I thought I bombed the test. The curve must’ve been tremendous.

I’m not sure how it counts for the purpose of the AP scholar awards, but any college will give you whatever credit they give for the AB exam.

They don’t count the AB subscore for the ap scholar awards.

has anyone from MA/New England gotten their scores yet?
