We aren’t really having a superbowl party. H likes to listen to the game in his workshop and only watch the important plays on the television.
I am planning on blue tortilla chips & guacamole ( blue & green)
I might get some skittles if I can find sour ones.
Gushers ( Shermans favorite candy) just sound too
I offered to make chex mix, as a batch I made for xmas turned out really well, but he really isnt a snacker.
There is already a thread on superbowl food.

Right - I do remember that thread - but the slant was more for “what foods relate to Seattle/Denver” - I figured many of us are not/will not tailor the menu to those cities but to our personal munching delights. :)

I bought some Angie’s Kettle Corn at Costco today. We are both watching our calories strictly, so that will be our only treat I’m afraid! We may not even watch the Super bowl, may go to a movie instead.

We are taking it out this year due to some overly indulgent guests last year (alcohol not food). Figure they might behave themselves better if in a public place. So I guess we all will be ordering from the menu which I think includes the usual fare of sliders, wings, bbq pork sandwiches, pizza and pitchers of beer/soda.

abasket… Here’s one of our family faves for football games. Not really lo cal/lo fat/lo anything and its not really a dip but a cheese spread…but it goes quickly, addicting, it’s easy and you make it ahead!

Pretzel Beer Dip
3 c. finely shredded Cheddar (divided)
2 (8 oz) softened cream cheese
1 pkg. dry Hidden Valley Dressing (the one that uses milk)
1/2 C beer
1 bunch green onions (4-5) chopped

Mix all EXCEPT 1 C of cheddar. Shape into ball & put in Saran wrap lined bowl. Chill until firm. Invert on plate and cover with last cup of cheese.
Serve with pretzels (or veggies)

I am headed out to the farmers market to look for some ripe good tasting avocados for guacamole for tomorrow. Otherwise I think H and S will get pizza and salad from a local pizza place. Pizza is a treat in our house.
S has loved the Broncos since he was a little boy. We aren’t sure how that came to be since we don’t live in Colorado. My S is so thrilled the Broncos are in the Super Bowl. It is a treat for me to see him so excited.

My H is making duck chili–he debones two ducks/pulls off the skin and uses the duck meat instead of beef for the chili. I’m making vegetarian chili. Friend is brining braised chicken. Others are bringing appetizers and my baker friend is bringing her oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies.

I’ve been following this thread for ideas but on Friday I learned I have to work Sunday! So today went to a nearby turkey farm and bought a pot pie and sides…lots of yum and no fuss!!

Ok Gosmom- I just added your beer cheese thing to my menu- looks delicious!

This is our 1st year with so few people-there will be only 3 of us. We usually have my Mom over but she doesn’t get it that we mainly watch for the commercials, so she talks all thru them. I’m having her over for dinner tonight instead so I won’t feel guilty!

I bought a tri-tip to BarBQ and will do chips and salsa and guacamole as well. I am watching my calories so got a big bag of Skinny Pop at Costco too. I’ll probably throw together some nachos as well. Way too much food for 3 people!
