PostDoc at Ivy Leage/Top School after PhD at lower-ranked School?

<p>I really want to do my postdoc at a top school (top 20, especially) like Johns Hopkins, Duke, VT, Boston, etc, in Biomedical Engineering. I’ll be getting my PhD at a lower ranked school (think top 400) in biotechnology and another engineering field, but I just wanted to see what my chances would be at doing a postdoc at these top schools. The school at which I’ll be getting my PhD is considered a great school in engineering, but it’s not ranked very high in general. Like I said, it’s a top 400 school. Would I have a chance in H…ee…double el?? Thanks!</p>

<p>I’d really appreciate an answer, folks. If the title of this thread doesn’t work, I guess I’ll have to go against the advice of the chances thread and title it “Chance me PLEASE!!” since those seem to be the ones that get the most responses ;)</p>

<p>Try posting in the graduate school forum. Most of the people on the Chances forums are knowledgeable mainly about undergraduate admissions.</p>
