posting my resume. what more do i need? applying after 3 years

I’m looking to apply to med school again after about 3 years of being AWOL. About a year after I graduated from college, my mom and I were involved in a car accident, where she sustained pretty bad residual injuries. In our family, my dad is disabled, and my mom was pretty much the only source of income. So I took up the slack and started working while she recuperated. (I have a sibling six years younger who was in HS–and now, starting college–so that was another large factor.) A few years passed, and my mom is finally somewhat better, so I’m resuming where I left off.

I haven’t done many ECs over the last 3 years just because I’ve been so busy.

Graduated: May 2008
B.A., Behavioral Neuroscience, GPA: 3.9 (Overall)
Distinctions: Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, Psi Chi

is there anything i should improve on? more volunteering? any suggestions would be much appreciated…thank you so much!

I think your volunteering efforts have been good.
Then only think that is lacking in your resume is professional shadowing hours. Clinical hours may also be low for you depending on how many hours you completed the “Local Hospital, Patient Interviewer…etc”. I don’t even know if that was for your research or you were actually volunteering and helping there.
Everything else is pretty nice academic wise so you really just have to do some active work rather than brain work.
Additionally, you haven’t taken the MCAT, so I believe studying for it and finally taking it and then applying with everything you have will take you 2 years atmost. If you plan to study for MCAT during this summer, then take it during the fall, you’ll be set. Then you can spend the majority of your winter doing the aforementioned activities. (P.S. Be sure that you have reengaged with your professors during the summer you study so that they know you are applying and can find the time to write good letters of recommendations).
Try to apply the earliest during the spring.
This would be a great way to not only spend your years but also cash in some money during the cycle you are applying for med school.

thank you so much! i’ll keep that in mind–will try looking for more clinical positions asap.
