Posting when logged in from another tab

I started typing a reply to a post and opened another CC link in another tab, realized I wasn’t logged in, logged in through the different tab, and after submitting my post from the non-logged in tab, I was told that I needed to log in and and everything was erased.

I was surprised to find that CC didn’t enable me to retrieve the content of my post (when I clicked the back button it took me to the page I was on before I clicked “post new thread” rather than showing the content from the attempted post itself).

I was also frustrated that the website didn’t recognized that I was logged in through another tab in the same browser. Most other websites have this level of sophistication and this isn’t an issue.

If need be, perhaps have the non-logged in error message be a pop-up box rather than re-direct to a new page that will prevent users from accessing their original content.

We apologize for your trouble with this. Have other members also experienced similar issues? I attempted logging in and out while having multiple tabs open on CC and found that the session state was carried through. I was using Firefox. Long ago, I got into the habit of highlighting and copying my content in the event of server timeouts (as I have also lost entries on various sites in the past).
