- Are ALL makeups going to be administered on February 20th, 2016?
- Can we compile a list of colleges who WILL and will NOT accept the delayed January test scores? (For 2016-2017 Admissions obviously).
Of course–go for it!
As of right now, it’s hard to tell if all the tests will be administered on 2/20/16.
Don’t you guys think this postponement might be a little unfair to those who do not get the extra month of preparation?
@ivyrunnernyc I’m assuming the make up will be on 2/20 because that’s when everybody else’s make up is and it is unlikely that the college board will make more than 1 make up exam.
As to the preparation period, I don’t think it’s unfair at all. So many colleges are not going to be accepting the makeup test score and I am honestly so jealous of the people who get to take it tomorrow. It poses a significant impediment to many of our applications and an extra month of preparation isn’t going to make up for that.
I messaged a few colleges and so far I’ve only received one answer.
Update: Claremont McKenna College, which will probably have the same process as rest of the Claremont colleges, will NOT accept the Feb test date scores because they will be too late to be factored into admission decisions.
What happens if someone has waited to take subject tests until the Jan 23 test date and it has now been cancelled? I believe some uni’s won’t get it in time. I have yet to call any uni’s to ask them directly, but does anyone have any information on this?
-asking for a friend
@NovaCat , that’s my situation. Some colleges will accept the score while other colleges will not. Different colleges do it differently so I’d recommend emailing the colleges.
UPDATE: Columbia University WILL accept the scores from the February test date. Those who are affected by the storm must email ugrad-confirm@columbia.edu with their full name, high school, date of birth and Columbia ID number
I emailed Columbia and it seems like all my other colleges will accept the scores, but I’m nervous that they will look at my application beforehand and see the absolutely horrid subject tests that I’ve taken so far and reject me
@anon9362 , if you let them know that you plan on taking the subject tests again then I seriously doubt they will reject you! also would you mind telling me what are the other colleges that will accept the february score? i’m trying to put together a list but no one’s contributing
Oh ok, well uPenn, Tufts, and Princeton all said that they will accept the scores as soon as they come in but no other details so I’m going to give them a call tomorrow just in case
Okay well I emailed Cornell and they said that when they receive the scores they will put it in your application but there is no guarantee that the scores will arrive before they review your application. Basically the same thing they say when you ask if they take January scores. The bright side is that they release decisions early April, as opposed to other schools so there is a little more time.
I have recently created a thread on this issue. I should have looked for previous threads before. Well, from what I have heard, the CB recommended that I directly inquire the schools first. BUT, you are able to create a request to take the test at and earlier date (any Saturday before the 20th). Since I am still waiting for a reply, I can’t really tell you how it works.
Update: Yale WILL accept the scores from the Feb test date, thanks to everyone who had contributed to the thread!
