Never saw that before. The 60 second block to keep a poster from posting too quickly (to stop spam) seems to have gone away (well at least I haven’t noticed it in a long time) but this is a new one. How long before a post is “reviewed”? Is this forum-wide?
I’ve seen this in recent weeks when there was a link in the post (maybe just some links, though, can’t remember details).
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
@jym626 As I indicated in my PM to you, some posts need to be manually reviewed before approval (if they are approved at all)
The most common reasons for a post to be auto-flagged is a prohibited link (FB/twitter, etc) or a prohibited word or phrase (usually a profanity or an acronym that, if spelled out, would contain the profanity.
When a post is autoflagged, a very subtle (perhaps too subtle) pop-up appears in the lower left of the screen.
In your case, the post has a twitter link, so I rejected the post.
The timing on review is the same as the timing for a flagged post; if a mod is online, it could be instantaneous. If it happens in the overnight hours, it may not be dealt with until the a.m.
@skieurope I started this thread before I saw/received your pm explaining that the tweet from Ga Power about the Atlanta airport fire was not allowed. I did not know why the post was flagged for review (didn’t know or remember about a link to the tweet) so didn’t know why I couldn’t respond with updates about the Atlanta airport situation. Thanks for clarifying. Since I don’t think I have ever tried to post a tweet, it didn’t occur to me.
As is often the case, the link also existed on the tweeter’s website. A link from the authoritative site, in this case GA Power, would not have been flagged.
The page I was trying to link had a photo of the tweet, and the original source (which I later tracked down) was microscopic in the small photo of the tweet. I tried to copy/enlarge it but was unsuccessful. It was a copy of the news release. I didnt immediately notice that it was sent out via twitter. It was from this article in the local paper ( should have just linked that-- but it was very long and I was trying to post the relevant comment from Ga Power)
