<p>Renteria has now hit as many home runs in this series as he had after April 27. Ironically, I lamented his absolute lack of productivity in Post #123 and now he is clearly a forerunner as the World Series MVP selection. </p>

<p>Moreover, the Nelson Cruz homer ended 18 innings of scoreless baseball for the Rangers. (They hadn’t scored since Hamilton’s solo home run in Game 3.)</p>

<p>Although The Freak looks terrific, I would invest my confidence in The Beard for the bottom of the ninth.</p>

<p>In the “Year of the Pitcher,” the season he doesn’t receive the Cy Young, Lincecum will (hopefully) win the World Series and out-pitch baseball’s all-time (statistically) greatest postseason pitcher on two consecutive outings. Unbelievable.</p>
