Potential employer perspective on Georgia Tech

My S is considering Georgia Tech, but I’m also in senior management in technology for a very well respected Fortune 100 company. We love Georgia Tech grads. We know the program is very hard, which gives a lot of credibility to anybody who makes it through. It is a huge plus to be able to demonstrate to a potential employer that you’ve got the commitment and discipline to deal with a difficult program. I’d rather hire a 3.2 from a tough school than a 4.0 from an easier school. This is especially true for bright kids who, unless they’ve been through a tough program, may not have the right skills to deal with big challenges because everything has been easy in the past. Just the view from one company, but don’t let the risk of a relatively lower GPA hold you back if you think this is the right school for you.

Do you think of grads that transferred to tech any differently than those who have been there for 4 years?
