Potential for haas?

@sonomono. You mean they at accepting more student this coming year?

HAAS will be MUCH tougher this year guys. They will be accepting more out of state transfers to fund their programs because of the deficit we are in. The requirements issued by HAAS are now in sync with every business school in the country, so many will be applying. In 2010, there were approx 1500 applicants as transfers… around 1100 or so were thrown out making 400 “eligible” applicants. Those breadth requirements imposed by HAAS which made 1k applicant denied immediately are now gone. Next year there will most likely be 2k applicants who are eligible for 90-100 spots.

I didn’t mean that they’d be accepting more students altogether, but I’d suspect that out of state applicants are going to be seeing better admission rates to UC programs in the coming years due to funding problems.

So I’m an instate student, my chances look slim?

2 Bs honestly aren’t the end depending on the amount of credits that you have. If all your other classes are As, by the time you have 90 credits, you’ll most likely hover around a 3.9, which is more than enough to stand a decent chance given that you write your UC essays in a manner specifically tailored for Haas.
But next years admissions promise to be rather unpredictable given the change in requirements.
Being an out of stater could be a factor, but not enough to make them kick someone out for the extra tuition. They’ll most likely enroll both applicants. Universities work at the margin, anyway, so cramming one extra student probably won’t change their costs.
