PR vs. Kaplan

Alrighty, so I got the PR 2007 and Kaplan 2005 book from the library yesterday. From what I hear, PR is good for strategies and it’s helped me out tons already. But their practice tests are really easier than the real thing.

How is Kaplan? Are their practice tests a good resemblance of the ACT?

it is really hard to tell if they are a good resemblance of the act. but i suggest getting the “The Real ACT” book for practice test. and McGraw-hill 10 practice test .

Princeton Review 2007 has much easier questions than the actual test ones and has numerous mistakes and discrepancies.

The Real ACT book is excellent.

What about Kaplan? Are their tests good?

Kaplan’s tests aren’t all that great in my opinion (same with their study tips). I found the 10 ACT’s practice book to be better, as those tests are much more like the real thing. Between PR and Kaplan, focusing your study time on PR will likely prove to be more beneficial.

If you don’t feel like going out and getting additional books, you can always call ACT and request a prep booklet.

Good luck on your ACT prep!
