Prague Quadrennial in June

Anyone going? Advice on where to stay?

Happykid is planning to go, but it looks like the original travel companion can’t make it. Normally she’d prefer AirBnB, but as a solo traveler she now needs ideas for grad student budget lodgings.

DH and I might be able to join her for the second week, but won’t know until at least mid-April. Any ideas on what to do/see in Prague that doesn’t have to do with the Quadrennial?

My son is going to do the trip after his graduation Prague - Vienna - Budapest. He also would be interested in the student budget lodgings options if anyone has good suggestions.

Ugh-- How did I miss the fact that there’s a major celebration in Prague in June? I’m a former travel writer… I guess I’m losing my touch! :frowning:
Going to meet CameoKid in London after her junior project ends in late June; we have the same travel plan as your son, @folkusnik. Might have to make an adjustment to the itinerary now…

The Quadrennial is only every 4 years, so I expect it is an easy thing to have never heard of. I certainly hadn’t. While Happykid is a bit miffed that only one student theater design project can be submitted by each university, and a senior MFA candidate beat her to that, she’s excited to go see al the designers’ work, chat up the vendors, and hopefully make professional connections. My fingers are crossed that her travel buddy’s university can come through with the money. I think she will get a lot more out of it if she has someone to talk things over with at the end of each day. Right now she knows some folks who might be going, but no one has absolutely committed.
