I will be majoring in Biomedical Engineering in Pratt next year. Is there a recommended calculator?

As a BME, I can tell you that you will never need a TI89 for BME.

If you don’t have a calculator, go buy a TI89. If you already have a TI83 (like the majority of American high school students), it will work perfectly fine.

Stick with what you are comfortable with and used in high school. you’ll use it mostly for basic calculations. BME almost never uses any of the higher functions of a graphing calculator, most computing will be done on a computer most likely through Matlab.
