Any international student received their decision?
Got deferred at Pratt lmao.
Hi I applied for the same BFA and got deferred I was wondering what your stats are (gpa and test scores) also if you could share a couple pieces of your portfolio that would be amazing, I just want to see where I went wrong
I was deferred as well, BFA in animation
Looks like Pratt deferred every applicant who required merit scholarship/fin aid …
I did not apply for financial aid and didn’t expect to qualify for merit… in my case, my SATs and grades were likely the cause. At my interview/portfolio review at Pratt in September, the interviewer said my portfolio was fantastic but my grades were a bit of a concern.
Did anyone that is non international get accepted to PRATT with money any major. I applied as a communications design BFA and I thought I has a strong portfolio and my gpa is a 3.7 and my SAT score is an 1140 so I was surprised that I was deferred
4.0 GPA, 1350 SAT, sexy portfolio, got accepted at every art school I applied except Pratt. Still dunno why I got deferred, must be the ridiculously low number of EA acceptances …
Any acceptances today?
@Metfan31 more like deferrals …
Admissions said on Wed that they do acceptances in batches. However, looks like acceptances were earlier this week and deferrals today. My son hasn’t heard at all.
@Metfan31 It looks like the only people who got accepted so far are the people who got merit $$, so I don’t think the “regular” acceptances went out yet.
@animate2002 thanks! Hope so!
my D got accepted with a 22k/yr merit. Her gpa and sat weren’t strong but she might have a strong portfolio.
Got accepted to Pratt for a BFA in Communications Design with 22k/yr merit!
My D got accepted for BFA this week- no financial aid or merit. Strong ACT, okay grades, and full International Baccalaureate Programme candidate.
My D got accepted on 12/16 to Pratt Fashion Design w/ 22k merit. She went to a portfolio day this past fall and received a very supportive letter afterwards from admissions encouraging her to apply EA. We’re really happy she got accepted & about the merit, but wondering what the difference is between 22k & 27k? Perhaps gpa? She is an honor student/ takes AP & college level courses. Her school does not have weighted grades and uses a proficiency based grading model. Her year is the experimental guinea pig year with this model and parents/students have expressed concern that colleges would not understand and scores would not translate well, and perhaps be detrimental. I wonder?
@trillium6 don’t worry about the metrics. College admissions officers have their own internal unit conversion systems. Like most UK and EU schools, my school follows the “percentage” (XX%/100%) system.
GPA system is definitely not the problem. It may be the portfolio or sometimes standardized test scores.
Has anyone had any experience at Pratt with changing either their major or college after being accepted to Pratt but before enrolling? Their website gives information about changing after Foundation year, but my D is trying to make a change now (after being accepted and before enrolling). They are not too good about responding to emails or calls, so just wondering if anyone has any experience with this.
My daughter got her acceptance on Friday. No information on merit. The email said all information will be sent. So frustrating I was hoping to get the information together. Has anyone else experienced this?
