D just called today to ask how we were & mentioned that one of her best friend’s dad is in a coma with swelling in his frontal lobe after being in a bike accident. He is an anesthesiologist and we all hope he will make a full recovery. Would appreciate any prayers for him.
Thanks! D & friend are keeping good thoughts in their hearts and hoping for the best.

He’s has mine.
I am about ready to change into my bike outfit.

Praying…

Prayers for your friend’s dad. Keep us updated.

Will pray tonight…

How awful… Will pray for his full recovery…

My prayers are with him…

Sending prayers your way and will ask my family to do the same.

Prayers here as well. Please keep us posted.

Prayers for a full recovery. Have they performed surgery yet to release the pressure. My dad has a similar injury and was in bad shape. As soon as he had the surgery he was able to speak and move. He made a full recovery. I hope it works out as well for your friend’s dad.

Haven’t heard an update but know that they did have surgery to remove the pressure. We are hoping for the best and he worked with many of the docs at the hospital where he’s in the ICU, so I’m sure they’ll all keep an eye out. Have asked the doc I’m closest to about keeping us posted, particularly with GOOD news.

Hawaii is an awful place for cyclists (bikes & motorcycles), especially at night on busy roads; it’s just too crowded. Unfortunately, none of us parents know the patient or wife that well, so we’ll all send her cards (otherwise we’d make food).

Thanks for the encouraging annecdote about full recovery. Glad to have read it & will share it with D.

All the best wishes, HIMom

It’s interesting how close our kids can be to some of their friends and yet we don’t know some of the parents of some of these kids as much as we’d like to. I know two sets of parents of her friends quite well and one of the dad’s fairly well. Have not really worked to know the others as well as I’d like–things get so busy with all of us having a lot of family nearby that we’re very close to.

He, and his family, are in my prayers as well.

Sending prayers and a safe recovery.

My brother was hit by a car while riding his bike 3 days ago. He broke his neck and many other things—but he will recover and walk again.

So my prayers will go out for your friend just as I have spent the last few days praying for my cyclist brother.

Hoping that both of them heal and can embrace a stationary bike in the gym!

Thanks for all the prayers, everyone! I’m hoping that no news is good news at this point. Will wait & see what there is to be heard.

ilovedcollege–will add my prayers for your brother as well. I’m not really a religous person but believe prayer can help, especially when all the rest of us can do is wait & hope. I envy folks who have deep religous faith, but have seen how shaken it can get when bad things happen inexpicably.

Still no updates so I’m crossing my fingers that it MAY be a good sign? Would hate for it to be otherwise but can only hope & pray.

Prayers for friend’s dad and ilovedcollege’s brother for full recovery.
